Window
This section allows you to customise the way the application behaves.
Start With Windows
When ticked, this will add a link to the windows startup folder to ensure the application starts automatically when the user logs into windows. If unticked, the shortcut will be removed.
Add Shortcut to Desktop
When ticked, a shortcut will be added to the users desktop. When unticked the shortcut will be removed.
Start Application Minimised
When ticked, the application will start with just an icon in the taskbar or system tray. When unticked, the application will start with the main window visible.
StartupTab
This selects which tab will be displayed on application start.
Show Tooltips
When ticked, tooltips will be displayed if the mouse pointer hovers over any controls. If unticked, no tooltips are displayed. It may be advisable to leave tooltips enabled until you are familiar with the application, after which they can be disabled to save distractions.
Hide Tray Icon
When ticked, this hides the System Tray Icon. When unticked, the icon is displayed. Note that this is overridden by the 'Minimise to the Tray' setting below.
Minimise to the Tray
When ticked, and the application is minimised via the button to the right of the title bar, the tray icon will be displayed instead of the taskbar icon. When unticked, and the application is minimised via the button to the right of the title bar, the taskbar icon will be displayed and the trai con may or may not be displayed dependent on the 'Hide Tray Icon' setting above.
Minimise on Close
When ticked, and the application is closed via the red button on the right of the application title bar, the application will be minimised instead of closed. In this case, the only ways to close the application cleanly are:-
- Via the 'Close Application' button.
- Via the pop up menu 'Exit' option on the system tray icon.
When the minimise on close option is unticked, and the application is closed by the red button on the right of the application title bar, it will close as normal.
